At an altitude of 14,110 feet above sea level Pike's Peak is the most visited mountain in North America with more than half a million visitors reaching the summit each year. Pikes Peak is the 31st highest peak out of 54 Colorado peaks and of all the towering 14 thousand foot high peaks in the Rocky Mountain chain Pike's Peak is the farthest east which lead to it's early fame with pioneers, explorers, and a slogan of the 1859 Gold Rush - "Pikes Peak or Bust".
