Wildlife Viewing

As one might expect, the Rocky Mountains are home to a variety of wildlife species, some of which are not found anywhere else. Of course, that's just one of many reasons so many people come to Colorado. Fortunately for you, viewing and photographing some of those animals can be easily accessed from Bailey Lodge, it all depends on two predictable variables: time of year and altitude.

Favorites, and most frequently observable mammal species, are bighorn sheep, elk, mule deer, and red fox. Seen less often are black bear, mountain lion (puma), mountain goats as well as other, lesser know species. With the enormous Pike and Arapaho National Forests and wilderness areas within them literally at our doorstep, the Bailey Lodge is squarely centered amidst each.
